A Nigerian app whose card is genuinely funded by an external crypto deposit across eight assets, offering a dollar Visa and a dollar Mastercard side by side — and publishing almost no price for any of it, including a fee left as a literal blank in its own terms.

Total, per $100 spent: not published

The issuer does not publish enough of its charges for us to price this card. That is not the same as cheap.

Whether to take Spenda

Worth a look if you are in Nigeria, are paid in crypto and need a dollar card that foreign merchants will accept — the funding path is real, the entry is free and having both a Visa and a Mastercard is genuinely useful when one gets declined. Treat everything past that as unknown. No issuer is named, no fee beyond zero is published, the terms carry a blank where a charge belongs, and the homepage reviews are invented.

In its favour

  • Crypto deposits are the primary funding path, not a swap bolted onto a naira account — eight assets land and convert into the card balance
  • Free to create and no monthly maintenance fee
  • Both a dollar Visa and a dollar Mastercard as separate virtual cards, which is unusual for a Nigerian app
  • Aimed squarely at the problem it names: paying for international services from a country whose local cards get declined

Against it

  • Almost nothing is priced. The card creation fee, the funding fee, the per-payment charge, the currency conversion and every limit are unpublished — the Terms even ship with an unfilled blank where a fee belongs: "A fee of $________will be charged"
  • No card issuer is named anywhere. A Lagos fintech that states it is not a bank does not issue Visa or Mastercard itself, and it never says who does
  • The homepage testimonials are synthetic: six reviews with invented names and no verifiable source, which is a pattern this site treats as a warning rather than as evidence
  • Spenda states outright that its supported-asset list is unpublishable — the assets and networks are shown only on the deposit screen inside the app

Also true, in its favour

  • Bill payments, airtime and data sit in the same app, so the crypto-to-spending path does not need a second product

Two things are stated and neither is a price you pay: the cards are free to create and there is no monthly maintenance fee. Everything else is absent. The funding fee, the per-payment charge, the currency conversion rate and every spending limit are unpublished, and the Terms of Use contain an unfilled blank — "A fee of $________will be charged" — where the card denial fee should be. The supported assets and networks are deliberately kept off the site and shown only on the in-app deposit screen, which is why the chain list here is empty rather than guessed. A $1 minimum balance must remain on the card permanently. No ATM figure is recorded because the only public statement about cash use describes a physical card that has since been replaced.

KYC: what Spenda asks for

A government document. Passport or ID goes to the issuer and to whoever processes verification for it, before the card is handed over.

Spenda publishes no spending limits at all.

Where it works

WalletsNeither

Account detailsNone — it is a card, not an account
Coins in8BTC, ETH, SOL, USDT, USDC, BNB, TON, SUI

The issuer names no country it turns away. That is not a promise that every country works.

The other flaws

  • The naira card and the physical card are Verve, a Nigeria-domestic scheme rather than Visa or Mastercard, so "spend globally" applies only to the two USD virtual cards
  • The physical card was replaced during 2026 and the only public statement about its ATM and in-person use describes the retired one, so this record claims neither
  • A $1 minimum balance must always remain on the card and is not returned
  • The Apple and Google guides are not Apple Pay and Google Pay — they explain adding the card as a billing method to an Apple ID or Google account
  • Using the USD card with Apple requires changing your Apple ID country to the United States
  • No country list of any kind is published for the card
