Zoomex Card

MastercardVirtual onlySince 2026
Asks for everythingOperational

A derivatives exchange's virtual Mastercard issued through UR, a FINMA-supervised Swiss fintech — free to issue, nothing on same-currency spending, and closed to 160 of the 203 countries this site tracks, which is the fact that decides whether any of the rest applies to you.

Total, per $100 spent: $3.00per $100 spent

126 of the 175 priced cards cost less. Among the 112 that ask for exactly as much identity, the median is $1.23. This one takes 2 times that for the same loss of privacy.

Whether to take Zoomex Card

Worth it if you live in one of the 43 countries it is open to, hold USDC, and want a card whose money sits with a FINMA-supervised Swiss institution rather than with an offshore exchange. Not worth pursuing otherwise: the blocklist removes Africa entirely, most of Latin America and most of Asia, there is no plastic and no cash, USDT holders must convert first, and the card page still describes its own launch campaign as being prepared.

In its favour

  • Free to issue, and spending in the card balance currency costs nothing at all
  • The issuer is named, licensed and lookupable: UR is the trademark of SR Saphirstein AG, Swiss register CHE-256.014.995, licensed under Article 1b of the Swiss Banking Act and supervised by FINMA
  • Zoomex publishes the country list for its own card, on its own help centre and under its own title, rather than pointing at a partner's generic roster
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay, which is how a virtual-only card reaches a shop counter

Against it

  • The country blocklist is enormous — 160 of the 203 countries this site tracks, leaving 43. The whole of Africa is excluded without exception, along with almost all of Latin America and most of Asia
  • The card page says the card has not launched, on the same page that sells it: its own FAQ reads "The campaign is currently being prepared"
  • Swiss deposit protection does not apply, and UR says so in capitals in its terms
  • Your money sits at a company you never signed up with — Zoomex states plainly that it does not hold fiat and that custody is with UR

Also true, in its favour

  • Limits are published as a tier table with exact figures for both tiers, not as an "up to"
  • Funds are held by a FINMA-supervised institution rather than by the exchange itself, which separates the card balance from the exchange's own book

Free to issue, 1% to move money onto the card, and nothing at all when the payment currency matches the card balance currency. Spending in another currency costs up to 2%, which the marketing denies and the FAQ confirms. Limits come as a two-tier table in euros: 2,000 a day and 5,000 a month on the basic tier, rising to 10,000 and 20,000 on Pro. The basic figures are the ones recorded here, because Pro was announced as a limited-time upgrade with no published price after it. No monthly fee is published, which is not the same as none being charged. There is no ATM fee because there is no ATM: UR issues virtual cards only. Cashback launched as a campaign with an end date and is hollowed out by two separate merchant exclusion lists.

The other flaws

  • Virtual only, no plastic and no cash: UR issues virtual cards exclusively
  • USDC only. If your Zoomex balance is USDT, the exchange's own flagship settlement asset, you must convert before you can fund the card
  • The marketing says zero FX while the FAQ prices currency conversion at up to 2%
  • A long and surprising merchant blocklist: fuel dispensers, public transport, utilities and charities decline automatically
  • Spending is throttled by a rolling per-user limit in Swiss francs that you cannot see in advance and cannot raise yourself
  • Funding is three hops with a manual pre-load and no overdraft, so a declined payment is the default failure mode
  • Onboarding needs a separate third-party app to read the NFC chip of a biometric passport, and fails on a VPN
  • Money is one-way for Hong Kong residents — transferring back is unavailable to them
  • Cashback is a dated campaign rather than a standing rate, and a second reward-exclusion list applies on top of the merchant blocklist
  • The card is bound to a second email address that can never be changed
