CARD PROFILE · FULL KYC

CEX.IO Card.

Partial data. Fee structure not fully disclosed by the issuer. Some fields shown as “—” are unknown rather than zero.

Instead of a single funding currency, you attach up to five digital assets to the card and rank them. Each purchase debits from your first choice, and when it runs short the system automatically takes the shortfall from the next asset in your list — so a payment goes through across several holdings at once without you converting anything in advance.

Pros.

  • +The card draws on the balance you already hold on a long-established exchange rather than requiring a separate wallet or top-up flow
  • +You can link up to five digital assets to the card and set the order in which they are debited, with automatic fallback when one runs short
  • +Conversion happens automatically at the moment of the card transaction — no manual sell step, no waiting for settlement
  • +Binding assets to the card does not lock them: you can still trade or withdraw them freely
  • +The card is issued by Quicko sp. z o.o., a Polish National Payment Institution holding licence number IP52/2021 — a named, supervised issuer, not a shell
  • +Contractual chain is fully disclosed: CEX.IO Europe, S.L. registered with the Bank of Spain, Quicko as issuer, both with addresses and contacts published
  • +Contactless payments work through the NFC module, including Google Pay and Apple Pay devices
  • +Quicko runs a 24/7 hotline for card issues on top of CEX.IO's own support
  • +A technical overdraft is granted rather than a failed transaction when crypto volatility briefly takes the balance negative through no fault of yours
  • +The card is available across the whole EEA, not just one country
  • +The card terms are a proper legal document, updated December 2025, with defined obligations for both sides
  • +The exchange behind it operates under a published set of licences and PCI DSS Level 1 audits

Cons.

  • We could not verify a single fee. All card pricing lives in the Limits and Commissions table, which is loaded client-side and served behind a regional block, so issuance, monthly, currency mark-up and ATM figures are all unconfirmed here
  • The card is EEA-residents-only: no access from Turkey, Russia, Brazil or anywhere else outside the European Economic Area
  • Virtual only — the terms state plainly that the card is issued only as an electronic record and does not exist in plastic form
  • The card cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot make deposits at a cash machine
  • The balance is fully custodial: your assets sit on the exchange, and CEX.IO can restrict, suspend or terminate the card at its sole discretion without explanation
  • The conversion happens at CEX.IO's own quoted rate, so the real cost of spending is a spread you never see itemised
  • The card is valid only until the last day of the calendar month printed on it, and is not renewed after that
  • CEX.IO can charge a fee simply for terminating your card service, in an amount published only in the fee table
  • A registered, fully identified and verified account is required, so full KYC is unavoidable
  • You cannot request an additional card for another person or add authorised users
  • Card terms are governed by Polish law with disputes routed to Polish arbitral tribunals, and the Quicko framework agreement overrides CEX.IO's own terms in any conflict
  • Gambling transactions may be refused by the issuer unless conducted under the Polish Gambling Act

We were unable to verify any fee for this card from a primary source, so every fee field here is deliberately left empty. CEX.IO publishes card pricing exclusively in its Limits and Commissions table — the terms confirm the table contains the virtual card issuing fee, monthly fee, currency mark-up and ATM operations rows — but that table is rendered client-side and the card page itself is served behind a regional block, so we could not read the numbers. What the terms do state without ambiguity: the card is virtual only, issued by Quicko sp. z o.o. under Polish payment-institution licence IP52/2021, available exclusively to EEA residents with a fully verified CEX.IO account, cannot be redeemed for cash, expires at the end of the calendar month shown on it, and may incur a separate fee for terminating the service. Conversion between your linked assets and the merchant's currency happens automatically at CEX.IO's own rate, which means the practical cost of spending is a conversion spread that is never itemised on the statement.
