Privacy Gateway CardPrivacy Gateway Card
VisaVirtual onlyOne of the very few Visa cards you can fund with Monero and open with nothing but a name and an email — no ID, no selfie, no address — where even the 3-D Secure step can be done in-dashboard so you never have to hand over a phone number.
137 of the 174 priced cards cost less. Among the 8 that ask for exactly as much identity, the median is $4.42.
Whether to take Privacy Gateway Card
In its favour
- No KYC in the real sense: name and email only, no ID, no selfies, no address verification
- Monero is accepted as a funding asset — genuinely rare for a Visa card
- Also funds with BTC, LTC, SOL, ETH, ZANO, USDT and USDC on Polygon, plus FUSD on Zano
- 0% fee on USD purchases
Against it
- Your balance is a one-way street: once crypto is converted it can never be withdrawn as crypto or fiat, and is not refundable
- The access hash is the only way into your account — no password reset, no email recovery, no support override
- Subscription model: $5 per month, charged from your balance
- 3.5% loading fee on every top-up
Also true, in its favour
- Card activates almost instantly; a USDT or USDC load lands in about 5 minutes
- Google Pay works out of the box for tap-to-pay in physical stores
- 3-D Secure without handing over a phone number — you can approve each purchase from the dashboard instead
- Reloadable as many times as you want, minimum $20
- Refunds and cancelled authorisations are credited back to the card balance
- Currently half price for 2026: $5 per month instead of $10

Subscription is $5 per month during the 2026 half-price promotion, normally $10, charged from your card balance. A 3.5% loading fee applies to every top-up and is deducted from the crypto received. Purchases in USD carry 0% fee; the rate on non-USD purchases is not published. Minimum top-up is $20 and varies by coin. Monthly limit is $10,000. If the card runs out of credit the subscription pauses and outstanding fees are collected when you reload. Critical: once a deposit is converted to card balance it cannot be withdrawn as crypto or fiat and cannot be refunded — it exists only as spending balance.
KYC: what Privacy Gateway Card asks for
A name and a phone number, neither of them verified. No document is uploaded and no selfie is taken, but you are no longer anonymous to the issuer.
Limits on spending
Not published by the issuer: daily spend, per payment, maximum balance, cash, per day.
Confirmed on privacygateway.io on July 31, 2026. A figure told to one person in a chat window is not a published limit, so it does not appear here.
Where it works
The issuer names no country it turns away. That is not a promise that every country works.
The other flaws
- Apple Pay is not supported at all
- Modest $10,000 monthly limit
- Explicitly not for one-off purchases — they tell you to look elsewhere if you only need a single transaction
- Not a bank or card issuer; it resells a card from unnamed third-party providers
- Governing law is described only as 'the laws applicable to the operation of Privacy Gateway' — effectively no stated jurisdiction
- The FX rate on non-USD purchases is not published
- Sending on an unsupported network or asset means total, unrecoverable loss
