Where Google offers manual payments, you push money into the account and spend it down — no threshold, no surprise charge, no retry loop against an empty card. It is not available in every country or currency, but where it is, it removes the entire class of failure this section exists to work around. Check the payments settings before choosing a provider.
The billing address has to hold up
Google ties the payment profile to a country that cannot be changed after setup, and it verifies more than Meta does — business details, tax identifiers in some jurisdictions, and an address consistent with the card. A provider that lets you set the billing address on the card, or that tells you what its issuer expects, saves an appeal you would otherwise lose.
Suspensions here are about the account, not the card
Google suspends for circumventing systems, for misrepresentation, and for payment patterns it reads as evasion — and it looks at the whole payment profile, not one charge. Rotating cards to reopen a suspended account is the fastest route to a permanent ban on everything associated with it. A new card fixes a declined payment; it does not fix a policy problem.
Does Google Ads accept prepaid virtual cards?
Accepted payment methods depend on the country and currency of the payment profile, and Google lists them per country in its own help pages — that list, not a reseller's claim, is the authority. In practice the common failure is not the prepaid nature of the card but a country or address mismatch on the payment profile. Verify the method is offered for your billing country before you deposit anywhere.
Card added, then the payment was declined immediately. What now?
Work in this order, because it goes from cheapest to fix to most expensive. Confirm the balance covers the full outstanding amount, not the shortfall. Confirm no 3DS request is sitting unconfirmed in the provider's dashboard. Compare the card's country against the payment profile's country. Only then conclude the issuer is blocking the merchant category — that one cannot be argued with, and the fix is a different BIN, which means a different provider.
